Good morning all! As you're reading this, I'm most likely on the road, headed into work with a delicious cup of coffee in my hand!

As I mentioned in my recent post about my morning routine, I've been taking as many steps as I can to de-stress the start of my day. That includes, waking up earlier than the kids to get a little 'me time', making sure everything is prepped the night before and of course getting in my daily coffee fix. Seriously, I'm like a zombie until I get some sort of caffeine in my system.

This week, I thought I would delve a little deeper into what my morning "me - time" looks like. I'm someone who enjoys calm and quiet, especially before I'm fully awake. That's why I like to get the kids ready first, so I can take my time doing my makeup and just sort of relax until it's time to go. I also find that morning quiet in the shower, before anyone else is awake. And it's there in the car as I make my morning commute, too.

There is something about my drive to work that I find to be especially relaxing. How can that be, fighting rush hour traffic, you ask? Well, First off, leaving early enough allows me to set aside any annoyances I may have with congested highways. But, secondly and more importantly, I love that time I get to be still and quiet in my car. Listen to relaxing music. Mentally prep myself for the day and tasks ahead. Relish in some silly conversations with my ever more verbal toddlers. I just take that time on the road to be still and calm.

It's a simple 20 minute ride, but it can set or ruin the tone for my entire day. So, I make all of these calming elements (especially the coffee) a priority before I start my work day.

On those days when I want my stress free moment to also be a quick and convenient treat, I will set aside five minutes of that commute to drive thru McDonald's and grab one of their McCafé Iced Mochas. (The Caramel Macchiato is a must try too!).

McDonald's actually just relaunched their McCafé menu that now features Cafe Quality Espressos in a pretty large variety of flavors/recipes. Like I said, the Iced Mocha and Caramel Macchiato are personal favorites. But, when I'm looking for a relaxing warm coffee I love to go with the Vanilla Cappuccino! So Good. Trust me on this.

What else is great about McDonald's McCafé drinks? You can try any of them for only $2 when you order a small*. Also when you use their app you can get one free when you purchase five!  Just head here to see what I'm talking about when I say this menu is delicious!

In Regards to the above App Deal: App Download and registration are required. The deal is only valid from 1/18/17 to 12/31/17 at participating U.S. Mcdonald's . ©2017 McDonald’s

Do you have any morning routines or treats that help you relax instead of stress out? As I've said in the past I am not a morning person (hence all the coffee love) so, I'm always looking for more ways to ease into my days! Let me hear your suggestions in the comments below. And don't forget to try these amazing McCafé beverages and tell me if you love them as much as I do! (OH, did I mention they have Pumpkin Spice Lattes?! Pumpkin Spice Latte available for a limited time only) “
